We who opposed the war were against Bush's motives for starting it in the first place. Our own government has been complicit in Saddam's crimes, which fact does not make Saddam less evil, and, of course, all right thinking people are glad to see the madman go, even members of the Peace Movement. If all Bush intended was to get rid of Saddam and then turn the country over to the people and gracefully exit, shouting "Hi-yo Silver", it might be construed as noble and beautiful. Of course, all those dead and dying civilians have to be overlooked in this scenario. But it is easy to see Bush has power politics in mind for the region and Saddam was merely his excuse for being there. It is not America's right to invade other nations like this, particularly when greedy self interest is the reason. The only way I can agree with such regime changes would be if the world community suddenly became responsible and determined enough to visit every despotic nation on Earth and freed all people - then left them the right to own and manage their own resources.
