Yes, the pathetic nitwit is me.
I need an equation for a little art project I'm working on.
The only thing that needs to be included is:
my age: 45
my shoe size: 7.5
an answer that falls somewhere between: 24-27.
It would be neat if the equation was kind of groovily graphic but..... I.... uh..... have no idea what I'm asking for so I will accept any equation that works.
Thank you!
Obviously,at 45,you're in a mid-life crisis and the mid point of your shoe is 7.5 divided by 2 and the mid point of your age is 22.5 so if you add these two mid points together you get (3.75 +22.5) 26.25 which is only 0.75 more than the mid point of your specification range and artistically satisfying in that it is exactly one tenth of your shoe size.
Wow! Excellent!
Thank you so much, spendius.
Could I write it out like this:
Age Shoe size
___ + ________ = 26.25
2 2
Sorry, that didn't layout very well. The second "2" is supposed to go under the line under "shoe size".

Spendi I always suspected you were an idiot but now I'm not so sure.
Age/2 + Shoe size/2 =26.25.
If I wanted to write it like a sentence would it go:
(Age / 2) + (Shoe size / 2) = 26.25
Code:
(age+shoe size)
_____________ = shoe size+sin 60°
2Π
Oh cool! Another one!
Thank you, Francis.
But..... er..... I don't really understand the answer. (I think I mentioned that I'm a pathetic nitwit, didn't I?)
(age + shoe_size*pi) / e = 25.22
Another one! Thanks markr!
(Do I even need to mention that I don't get "e"?)
Okay.....
With all of this I really need to rethink my design....
Bella Dea,
You might not know that markr's offering is potentially significant to your brief because it includes the two most celebrated "irrational numbers" Pi and e.
Irrational numbers do not follow predictable sequences. This is perhaps one of the properties of art...to depart from the predictable.
tsk tsk
not getting sin
(it said sin60 so you have 15 years purity left)
and e
is the fifth letter of the alphabet
sin is of course compulsory for all true artists !
Speaking of irrational....
I don't know if I'm boomer or Bella right now.
I think that Bella might have a few more pure years left than me.
And I'm the pathetic nitwit, not Bella. She is only sympathetic to my nitwitery.

thanks for clearing that up boomer, I was confused.
Sorry....losing the plot !
You should keep your math puns in the appropriate threads.
