Legalism, Asceticism, Mysticism...

My thoughts at the moment are of how annoying it is when someone starts a thread which contains nothing more than a link.
Sheesh.
At least post something about it here, nobody want's to chase blind links.

If a person copies and pastes people are annoyed. If a person presents a link people are annoyed.

Sometimes I can get annoyed when one person thinks they speak for all.

Maybe you meant to say something other than 'nobody'. :wink:

What are YOUR thoughts on the issue? (whatever that is)

My thoughts are that there are many Christians who fall into these things.

With most other religions.....these are the foundation of them.

I believe legalism is damaging to any organization. I've seen it in every aspect of my life. Work, home, entertainment... you name it. The problem I have with legalism is that it hurts people. It say's without words, "You aren't as good as me. You never could be."

We can talk about knowing love. We can say we love everyone as we believe God wants us to. But love is demonstrated through actions not words.

In my opinion it is legalism that has been one of the major factors in giving christianity a bad name.
