Frank- When I think of the way that the S&R forum has been behaving lately, I am reminded of that line from Hamlet:

Quote:
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

I don't find myself consciously viewing or treating a member differently because of their avatar. I certainly don't avoid any members because of their avatar.

I have been accused by one poster of being a misogynist. When I asked why, she revealed it was just because of my avatar. Shocked

Why did you pick YOUR avatar? Is it the one that you always have used, or do you change it frequently? Does it have any special meaning for you?

I just found a good candid shot, one that wasn't too formal, but conveyed some personality.

I've changed it briefly, but reverted when asked.

Hiya, Frank. Long time no see.

Hi Frank, welcome back.

To me, Frank's avatar says "I'm desperately trying to bang every available woman on A2K".

But I could be wrong. Wink

I change my avatar often. I don't know why really. I just get bored I guess. I chose the one I have now because I like calvin and hobbes. I figure eventually I'll find one I really like and will keep for awhile.

I was going to use "Daniel" the shy tiger character from the Land of Make-believe, but this is just a better picture. I like it because it is non-threatening yet dignified. Plus, it looks exactly like me.

I think ehBeths flowers are hyacinths.

I associate people with their avatar and it always takes me awhile to get used to a new one. If anyone just mentions Kickycan, Gus or Lord Ellpus I instantly get their avatar image in my head.

I found a new avatar only after someone nicked my original one from the community bin. It took me 3 days to learn how to shrink the thing to 6k.

Hey Green Witch... could you share a little insight with me on how to shrink them to 6k? I found several I really like but they are too big and I'm still trying to figure out how to shrink them... grrrr....

Your Avatar- What Does It Say About YOU?
After some thought, I've decided that I really like my avatar. It expresses how I feel. I just fits. Some like it, some don't. But to me, it reflects beauty in a classic, sophisticated, yet very sensual, artistic way. If I can share this inspiring visual essence of myself, and lift the spirits of those who have an appreciation for it, then this is good.

One day when I feel moved to do so, I'll use my own photograph. But for now, the one is fine. Smile

I ain't GW, but I like to jump into conversations... Razz

Go to Forum Help in the Forum Index. There is a thread there called "avatar tutorial."...I learned to do it from there, and I'm an idiot with computers, so I'm sure anyone can do it.

Cypercat is correct, that is where I learned to do it and the instructions are as simple as anyone can make them. I used hotoshop and kept experimenting based on the instructions until it worked.

My avatar says little about me, but it does say that my cat is HOT! And a little insane, look at those eyes...

Actually, I do think it says an important thing about me, because my little tabby kitty has been my best friend through all my hard times. I love her a ridiculous amount.

P.S to Green Witch: I've always meant to tell you how much I love your Winnie Ille Pu quote. It makes me smile every time I read it, and then I think, "I'm glad GW has that signature, I should tell her!" So I did.

Mount that horse and ride like the wind, hephzibah!

I love the smooth, exhilerating feeling of it when they break into a run across the open field. But hang on to that saddle horn when you do it! Smile
