Is the body a shell.

Is the mind the controller of our body. if the body died would the mind cease to exist along with the body, or would it remain wandering the earth at faster than light speeds. Another question is that if it remains and wanders would it colide with our thoughts and give us ideas or would it go straight through our brains without touching our subconcious.

If the brain is clinically dead, the body can still be kept alive mechanically. If the body dies, can you keep the brain alive mechanically? I don't think so. So, the brain dies IMO.

Oh, the brain is definatly the living part. Without the brain, an organism has no drive to live and therefore doesn't live. Unless of course a brain already does the work it needs to, then dies and the person's body is kept functioning via life support.

I'd like to think plants are primitive forms of brains. They sense the energy of sunlight and grow via it, in any direction the stimulus comes from. Suppose the chloroplast would be removed, the plant now has a need to find energy via a new source, ie protein. The plant can't grow via the sun anymore, so it's sense (the leaves) become uselss and the organism develops new ones which contribute directly to the growth of the brain, in the same way sunlight would to a tree.

I'm not sure how valid this is, but look at a large tree without it's leaves, and compare it to the nervous system of a living being.

My theory is the earth is a body (bodies are made of energy), and that the water is the element which brings about life (at first in the form of plants). Then the brain (plants) develops it's own mobile shell, or body (an animal)Everything that comes after that, is life just developing more and more, ensuring it's own survival.

The life doesnt disapear, it evaporates and gets back into the water cycle until it has a chance to occupy a new body and thus a new organism.

interesting theory, i often think the same way. i believe the earth is alive, it has its own form of response and questions. When we need air it groes tree, when we need water it rains, or it might throw a virus at us just to see how we cure it. in my mind the earth is a sentient lifeform.

The earth isnt sentient i dont think. In the same way our own bodies aren't sentient. I feel the water is. In star wars the force is what bonds all living things, what bonds all living things on earth? Water in one form or another. Water conducts electricity, and our thoughts are beleived to be eletrical impulses. The earth is just a body that water uses to keep itself alive. The water cycle? It passes through all living things, everything in nature is designed to maintain that cycle. We are here to keep plants alive (we breath OUT what they breath IN)

im not talking about the life. I am talking about the mind, you are talking about life reincarnation , but i am wondering if the mind is reincarnated with the life?
