It looks like all you need to do is put it in the "image" box!

From above.....

Come back to the thread here at A2K.
Type in something, anything, in the response box, then hit the "Preview" button below.
Click on the option "Image" and a little box will come up that says "http:........"
Delete that, right click, and chose "Paste"

The image's "address" will appear in the box.
Click "Okay"

Then submit as usual. Your image should appear on the thread!

Replacing missing pixels
Ah ha!

But it's much too big. However, you get the idea - big on contrast betw back and foregrounds.

I liked it, but I'm not sure it's all that good a photo, really...

Is there any way you can reduce it?

I did it (the url) with img tags and it didn't work.

Tomkitten, did you find the box on Photobucket that is labeled "img"? The url there should look something like this:

As far as I can make out the Photobucket instructions apply only if your want to send a picture to eBay, etc, or to another web page altogether. They seem to require that I have a web page from which to send, but I don't. Am I wrong here?

This is an experiment to see if I can get a smaller image.

Are you going into "generate image tags and html codes"?

That is where you prepare your images for placement in some sites. You don't have to do this here.

I'm going to do one and type it in as I do it....

Go to photobucket and left click on the image you want to place.....

This will bring it up in it's large format.....

Right click on the image, a menu should appear. The last option on the menu is "Properties", left click on properties....

A "Properties" box will open. The third item listed is "Address (URL)"....

Run your cursor over the address to highlight it....

Right click on the highlighted area and a menu will appear. Select "Copy" from this menu....

Return to A2K thread and click the "Preview" button right below the "Quick reply" box where you type in your response (You will have to type something in before it will let you "Preview")....

Now, above the response box you will see a section that says "Mesage body" that allows you to change your font to bold, italic, underlined. There is also a button that says "Quote", "Code", "Img", and "URL".

Click the "Img" button and a box will pop up that says "http//:"...

Delete that.

Right click on the box and choose "Paste" from the menu that pops up.

This should paste the image's address into the box.

Click "Okay" and the image's address should appear in the response box surrounded by symbols.

Click "Submit" and your image should show up just like this...

You might want to try resizing the image in photoshop and reloading it in a new size. For example, the image I just loaded is sized to 8x8 at 250 dpi.

Resize the image using something like IrfanView

I like using ImageShack for hosting the images I intend to post to web forums; its free and easy to use ... it even preconfigures links you can just copy-and-paste, and it also has a "Thumbnail" feature. There's also a resize feature, but I don't use it, I prefer to do my own resizing.

I downloaded the original from PhotoBucket, resized the big photo to 640x480 - plenty big enough for forums and web pages - with Irfanview, then uploaded it to ImageShack, and just copied the resulting forum link and thumbnail link, pasted them here, and this is what you get:

If you click the thumbnail above, you'll be taken to the same picture as is displayed below.

Oh, Boomerang - I could NEVER get a picture like that. Those eyes!!

But I went through the steps you list, and there are two possibilities - first, maybe I didn't follow through correctly on the A2K sequence, and second, Firefox may make a problem - I can't underline, italicize or bold in my A2K messages. I wonder if that's what's interfering?

I'll try again; it's obvious the thing can be done one way or another.

Maybe I'll try a different photo - everyone must be getting tired of this one.
