Rather sounds like a unique event. A cup of English tea and a chat.

Sympathy. Isn't that what was supposed to be served with the tea?

Unless you've some really nice home-made scones. They're great with strawberry jam and cream at tea-time.

(Hi, Mame how have you been? Smile )

Very true, it is our national dish - counting Devon as a nation; beats me how you can get such things in Oz, the cream would be wrong...

With all due respect to Devon cream, we do have a pretty mean dairy industry and I think, perhaps, King Island cream could give yours a run for its money. May not be quite the same, but it is good stuff.

X-tremely well put Lezzles, our Dairy industry is tops. Like cheese, our cheese is equally as good or if not better than Edam or Gouda, and that saying something coming from a Dutchman. Smile

Yummy cheese indeed, and so far none of our cows have had to consult a psychiatrist!

Could you possibly mean that video games come first?

Even I don't think video games come before food and sex.

I must have touched a raw nerve as the response was quicker than lightning. You're right about the gent but can forget about "old fashioned" Mame Smile

Just 'ang on there a minute.... It used to be sex, lies and video tapes. This does not apply to us - video tapes are getting so hard to find these days. (Sex, lies and dvds just does not have that 'ring' to it.) And, of course, we don't tell lies! So the whole thing had to be altered. I thought 'food, sex and video games' was much more trendy.

As for their sequential order - Well, if the loaf of bread and the jug of wine was more important in Omar's opinion than the 'thou' - who am I to argue?? Cool

Keeping it in a somewhat different order, Omar Khayyám wrote, "Two sweethearts, two flasks of old wine, a book of verse and a cosy corner in the garden". From this we got the saying "Wine, women and song". The British naval equivalent of this reads "Rum, bum and concertina", but I was thinking about the modern version of all of this "Sex and drugs and Rock and Roll." Smile
