In a forum as large and varied as Able2Know, it would be impossible to post so generically as to offend or alienate nobody. Many threads are intended for a select audience, although everyone has a perfect right to drop in and comment. Some members become so thin skinned that they think any topic that approaches their favorite tabu is aimed directly at them. I am thinking specifically of the religious threads, but it can be applied to almost anything else.
Sometimes I and/or other members may want to joke among ourselves or discuss a given topic. The open forum is the only way it can be done. It is a pity when others have to crash such a thread with self defensive and accusatory responses, when they could easily avoid the supposed offending thread. Remember, your pet obsession is not always on the minds of those with whom you disagree.
Generally, an intended argumentive thread is so worded, you cannot miss it. That's the best place to accuse and argue.
I'm very offended by this thread!

I agree.
Then again...I live in North Carolina, where people talk pretty funny too...

It ain't us that talks funny, it's the rest of the world.
I would like to suggest that the best way to stop the annoying ultra-sensitive types is to ignore their blathering and enjoy yourself in spite of them.
But, on a serious note. I've been known to jump the gun on a few threads that I found offensive and I simply blame it on PMS.
