Has anyone ever been to Lamu on the Kenyan coast? I lived there for almost three years and just wanted to share some experiences.

It is one of the most amzing places you can travel on a shoestring and a great place to live and work.

Jambo Andy CWS.Lamu no.Mombassa.Nirobi and Malindi,YES.I could SO live in either, wether it's the Nirobi Hilton or a beach hut.Not too sure of the roads outside of Nirobi though, more like beaten-up tarmac leading onto deep-rutted off-road tracks.

I was a teacher at Lamu Bous Secondary School from 1983 to 1985. Nothing could have been better as far as working in Kenya. I stayed for a couple of months after I stopped working as was seriously thinking of staying for a much longer time.

'Island Fever' and wanting to gop to Asia led me away. I really miss it.

Go to YouTube and you can find a lot of videos on Lamu.
