Is a pound of feathers heavier than a pound of lead?

We never had such (besides carat) here.

And I'm glad, I don't have tabs of butter and tea at home, but only two half pound packets of butter and 1/4 pound of tea.

(I know that tea taster use exactly 2.86 grams for atsing = the weight of a sixpence. Is there a special name for this as well?)

Clearly this is an inaccurate statement.

@engineer,
Awww...give the kid a break.

Everything was perfectly fine but for the question and the answer!

Well, the question, the answer, the spelling and the attitude.

Omg it's a very old trick question, which usually mislead simpleminded people.

1 pound is 1 freggin pound, no matter the object weighted.

The simple answer (might already have been given) = no, they'r equal in weight.

It's the same as asking "what color is king Christian IV's white horse?", many don't get the questioin, sad.

@HexHammer,
Try carrying a pound of feathers and a pound of lead. Try dropping them both on your head from six feet.

@spendius,
I'm sure that has happened in your world, spendi, but most of us live in the "real" world.

@spendius,
I thought the whole point of the thread was to see which pompous clown would jump up at provide Hex's answer and which ones would deem it necessary to demonstrate their scientific understanding by enthusiastically endorsing it.
