How and when does a post become 'featured' on A2K?
And what difference does it make anyhow??]
thanks for your repsonses!!
A thread becomes "featured" when one of the staff thinks that the subject of a particular thread has some kind of unique interest, or the thread has become very popular.
The advantage of a thread being "featured" is that it pops up to the top of the forum lists.
I think it might be the opposite with popularity -- that if it ISN'T popular but seems worthy somehow, it's featured to keep it up top.
Of course, I'm sure that sometimes when it's featured it BECOMES popular!
Of course, for those of us who go directly to "new posts", it makes no difference at all.
Eyep.
Same with forums -- some of these discussions about "well why are you in this forum if you're not interested in..." I just click on whatever looks interesting from New Posts, regardless of what forum it happens to be in.
I'm the same way, Sozobe. I just run through the new posts, and see what looks interesting. I don't even have E Mails sent to me.
