The UN, The US, and Iraq" all stem from a thread titled The Iraq Questions, which began in the Autum of '02. The first successor thread was titled simply "
The US The UN and Iraq", the subsequent offspring have essentially the same title but with a sequence number appended. The current incarnation is the 8th, being in effect the 7th successor thread to the original offshoot. The series is a single discussion, and is one of the longest continuous single topic discussions to be found on the anywhere Web, having literally scores of thousands of replies (many of which are original essays of major- magazine-article length and quality), and an aggregate pageview count into the millions over its more than 3 year history. In terms of volume of text, nothing else on the boards here comes even close.
