As I sit here watching what look like 2 15 year old lads outside the window I think to myself why do guys STIL think smoking makes them look older, and why do guys spit?
Guys are not alone in possessing foolish notions about smoking . . . I'd explain about the spitting, but that would entail revealing some very basic information from The Man's Handbook, and my life would be forfeit . . . you'll just have to remain mystified . . .

I'm not sure teenage boys smoke to look older. I was a teenage smoker. Like a lot of people, I smoked because it looks cool, which it is, no matter what anyone says.
I don't smoke anymore because it's far worse for your health than even the media makes it out to be.

I saw a 12 year old smoking a few years back, I didnt see that as cool.
Maybe the smoker thinks they look cool but onlookers dont think the same.

Ah you mean rather weathered Bob Dylan who has been helped to look that way by smoking, James Dean who if he had not died in a car crash may be riddled with cancer now.
Surely being quite healthy is cooler than apparently looking cool when smoking.

I agree with smoking looking cool... in H.S. it seemed only the "cool kids" smoked... or you were "bad ass" if you did... kids do it for the image... to appear as if they are doing something they shouldn't be doing and there for they are cool.... they are disobeying...
I smoke... I don't do it to look cool and I know it is not healthy... but I started doing it to look cool... when I was 16...
Now I am just plain addicted and sick of it.... I have quit a few times.. but it is a very hard habit to break
