Now is the time (Northern hemisphere) to plant your Garlic for next year.
Take the plumpest garlic cloves you can find, and plant them into good, well dug soil, about two inches deep.
Position them in the garden so that they can bake in full sun during the spring and early summer.
Any other jobs that need doing in November?
Will they grow if I plant them in a pot near a sunny window?
garlic is a natural 'defense' for houseplants against spidermites, flies and a few other pests.
I dont remember where I got this info from.. but
in my few house plants, I have a piece of garlic that I allowed to take root, and even my ourside plants dont have spidermits. ;-)
