Vinsan, which hotel is better - The Hyatt Regency or the Grand Hyatt ? Unfortunately the hotel I always stay in (Taj Land's End) has been removed from my company's list of preferred hotels....

Both have thie pros and cons

Hyatt Regency:
pros:
1. Nearest Hotel to the Airport
2. Good for shorter stay (for 2-3 days)

cons:
1. Noisy due to airport flight blares

Grand Hyatt:
pros:
1. Good for longer stays (like for a week or so)
2. Excellent accomodation facilities & locality

cons:
1. Distant to the Airport

My Clients from US stayed in Grand Hyatt last time .....

I am not sure abt their fares Sad though

mctag, clary, but also vinsan or SuperG: here's a website of videoblogs about all sorts of festivals and happenings in india done by a friend of a friend: http://csfvlog.blogspot.com/ the first one - about the ghanesha festival features my friend rohit. most v-logs are 3 to 7 minutes long, some are very interesting, check'em out!

The ganesha festival is celebrated for 15 days in late august or early September of every year and involves making ritual clay idols of Lord Ganesha (Elephant headed God of Luck and Intelligence), founding them at home or in public, praying them in groups and then perform their immersion in natural water sources like sea, ponds or rivers on the last day.

Primarily celebrated in Maharashtra state (and hence in Mumbai) the immersion ceremony is Asia's biggest one-day festival where thousands of people gather on the roads of Mumbai to travel to the sea shore and immerse the Ganesh Idols into the water. Some Ganesh Idols are as big as 3 storey buildings. The number of people in immersion ceremony sometimes reach over a million scale too.

60-70 years back it was more a private ceremony. But then the festival became historically significant in this part of India when it was made public by a freedom fighter Bal Ganghadhar Tilak as an effort to perform mass education and revolution in the society toward s Indian freedom. So it is a symbol of pride and festival of new era of independence for Indians.

1. A bit too far from office
2. Already full
3. Not a company preferred hotel
4. I go to my hotel to sleep only (and if I have a date....)
