Re: 3 guys, 5 dollars, and a hotel room

What happened to the other dollar?
The $4 multiplied by 3 number, includes the bellboy's tip. $12= cost of room ($10) plus bellboy's tip ($2). Instead of adding the bellboy's tip at the end, you should add the total dollars the guys have left.
The correct way to calculate the total is:
$4*3=$12 (cost of room including tip) + $3 (money guy's have left)= $15
What the riddle calculates is:
$4*3=12 (cost of room with tip) + $2 (cost of tip) = $14
The riddle incorrectly counts the tip twice. The "missing" dollar is the difference from $3 (money guy's have left) - $2 (cost of tip).
