Technological institutes in USA and CANADA

What are you interested in studying? There's a big difference between electrical engineering and computer programming, for example.

i am particularly interested in Bioinformatics.

Wow, that's hard stuff. Hmm I bet MIT and Stamford are good no matter what.

MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and Stamford (University, it's in California) are the 2 best engineering schools in the United States. Renssalear Polytech in upstate New York is probably third and may be less expensive.

I recall Boston University is or at least was good in Civil Engineering, unsure about other areas.

Are you looking for the best, or less expensive, or convenient to a particular place, or with a night program, or what? That will help to narrow things down.

how abt university of california.....

There are lots of branches, UCLA, UCSD, etc. I really don't know how they do engineering-wise, I'm sure their websites or the US News and World Report will have more info.
