Pot Makes You Smarter

that news source is canada's national newspaper, surely you know that we canadians are all a bunch of beer drinking, pot legalizing, same sex marrying socialists so we might be a little biased

I played in Canada in the mid seventies and never had so much fun.

Whats the deal with Marijuana? There are those who seem to "THINK" (and I use that term lightly) its perfectly ok, not as bad as a cig, fewer sidafects than a Big Mac, and the list is never ending. If you contribute to society then it's ok if you use it (boy, thats an OLD arguement) well, then I guess it would be"OK" to ingage in sexual intercourse with a 4 year old. Aslong as your contriubuting to society. And then there are people who think COCAIN is an ok thing in "small" doses..... whats next? Point is they make laws for a reason, do you really think the government would not like to cash in on the profit made from Marijuana sales if it were 100% legal? Look how well tabaco sells, imagine how Marijuana would do. So that whole "stupid law" thing won't fly. Its illegal for a reason. And if nothing else it stinks. So who is right and who is wrong?

I'm soooo old I am of an age slightly before the cusp of the heyday of the sixties, and so I got to like a glass of something before I got to like a toke or a brownie. But I've enjoyed enough not to get vapors in a new version of whatever that thirties' movie was.

I gather some recent stuff is not all so benevolent, but I figure a regular marketplace should take care of modifying that.

Count One - over-acting
Count Two - bloody awful script

I could go on but I feel the need for the principle of parsimony to visit me.

Talk about a logical leap. The argument that people are able to use pot and be societally functional is analogous to people who use alcohol and be societally functional. Using pot isn't analogous to engaging in sexual intercourse with a four year old because using pot doesn't necessarily affect other people, let alone four year olds.


The government's plutocrats are cashing in on their war profiteering by keeping it illegal and waging "war" against it.

Anything new in your neck of the woods?

Reefer Madness is one of my all time favorite movies. It is HILARIOUS!!! I wonder if anybody, back in the '40s when it was made, actually took it seriously. A friend of mine has it on casette. When I go to visit him, we sometimes watch it and absolutely roar with merriment. Obviously, the director had no 'technical advisor' on the set, anyone who would have actually been familiar with marijuana, its accoutrements and its effects. It is priceless.

Sounds like a movie I need to see. I wonder if I could find it on Ebay.
