How can Content Specialist be the last on the rank list (highest), and people who posted 400 messages are already 1. Confused

You're content specialist and people who posted 400 posts also are content specialists. How is that possible?

TGR, Craven addressed this in one of your riddle posts. Content specialist isn't a rank -- it is independent of how many posts you have. The titles were recently changed from "forum guide", which is why you see the shift. That has nothing to do with the number of posts, though.

ok, call me dumb (DUMB!!![that's enough, thankyew]

why did I move from Enthusiast to Seasoned? was it when I passed 1000 posts? I find it more enjoyable, of course, to have some seasoning, just want to understand the shift...

thanks be to anyone who answers me (be kind, however, PLEASE)

Ayup. Smile Congratulations and suchlike, sc.
Here's the list of how many posts you need to get to each new rank...

Rank list

There are also moderators, content specialists & project specialists. Those titles are independent of how many posts someone has made.

Lemme see if I can help here ... "Specialist" is not a "Rank", it is the designation of a member who has taken on responsibility to generate content or assist with projects, and is wholly independent of number of posts. As to the "Just-Hatched - Newbie - Near Enthusiast - Enthusiast - etc" designations, those are based on number of posts, and advance accordingly. A fairly comprehensive explanation of the matter may be found here

As I recall but am too lazy to verify, the progression schedule also is explained in the FAQ, accessible through the appropriate link down there in my sig line. A good rule of thumb is "When in doubt, consult the FAQ".

so here's what i discovered earlier today - inadvertently - not paying attention - lalalalalalalalalala - if you click on the bar under any general member's designation - it takes you to the same thread. it startled the bejesus out of me when it happened, but i learned something.

I've noticed that, timberlandko. It was a bit of a shock the first time I noticed. The shock wasn't that I noticed Rolling Eyes , but the roll-back just after I'd gone up a level. I felt like I was doing the hokey-pokey. Left foot in, left foot out.
