"IT" is an impersonal pronoun.

Question, Tech:

The sentence is a run-on sentence.

Grammatically it should read "Something is unusual about this sentence. What is it?

But since you ran it on, I am assuming that the "...what is it?..." is part of the sentence -- and part of the solution.

Am I correct?

The sentence has exactly 9 words in it, composed of 43 letters.
Most sentences don't.

Not only that, but this sentence contains all the words:
"Something is unusual about this sentence, what is it?"
Most other sentences don't use those words.

This sentence is also entirely unique in that it is the topic of this
particular discussion thread. Not all English sentences can claim that.
In fact, most non-English sentences cannot claim it either!

This sentence is very unusual in that it was posted at
Sat Apr 05, 2003 4:30 pm.
Most sentences you find on the internet were created at a different
time from that, and by a different author too!

Very Happy The unusualness of this sentence is limitted only by our time, will,
and imagination... Am I correct?

The answer is "It is It" or "something."

The question was ".....what is it?" Well, it is it. The stuff before that is trash.
The question was "something is unusual...." This time something is being indicated to be unusual. So "something" is unusual Very Happy

Actually, it is a knock-off on one of the Internet's most famous riddles. I honestly cannot bring that riddle to mind -- but I remember that the essential of the riddle had to do with disregarding a huge part of the riddle and concentrating on just the last few words.

The riddle showed up in Abuzz about 65 times. Every time someone saw it, they seemed to start a new thread on it -- and often posted it in a way that the riddle could not be solved. There were even Internet sites devoted to explanations of it.

ANYBODY REMEMBER THE RIDDLE I'M TALKING ABOUT??? It is driving me nuts -- but the research I'd have to do to recover it is over in Abuzz -- and Abuzz crashed again.

That's it.

Abuzz just came back on line -- and I spent the better part of an hour looking this thing up. Finally found it. Wish I had come back here first.

"Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is."

ANSWER: Language. All the stuff about "gry" is smoke. The second sentence is the essential sentence.
