I don't know if this helps (probably not) but I was told that if you're considering some names for your dog then go out into the back yard and yell them out at the top of your voice. If one doesn't make you feel stupid then it's a good name. Very Happy

flushd has a point.

We named a dog Dave and called him that for months before we noticed his little whatsit was a peter.

It took me weeks to call Dave Jill.

It looked like a Dave.

Could have been a Davina

If you're going to name a doberman, then how about:

m: Ragnar
or,
f: Lori ?

Or something similar to reflect its heritage.

I've fostered dogs that I named Dax and Duffy (short for McDuff.) Girls? Can't come up with one for such a regal dog, yet.

Dobermans are lovely creatures.

One show Doberman -- I believe he (?) won his (her?) group at Westminster one year was named Raisin.

Rohrau, wouldn't that work for a dobie? It's a village in Austria, but I always loved the sound of it and want to see it used around.

you need to get a name that doesnt sound sinister. Our neighbor has some dobiew with names of guns like LUGER . And he has one of those signs that says "i can make it to the gate in 2.5 seconds, can you"

Dobies need real doofus names so they can be properly socialized.

Licorish
Beevis
Jethro
Useless

How about Dobro?

Means actually 'goodness' in Czech and Slovak, and sounds like a doberman related name.

Joe and Flo
Rover and Juniper
King and Princess
Prince and Queen
Druid and Darling
Snappy and Chopper
Gus and Mary
Fred and Ethel
Bruiser and Snookums

Name giving of animals is a personal matter and some of it is based on how you react when you first see it.

Then they will eat a lot of kibble. Smile

If they're all male, you can go with Huey, Dewey and Louie. Or Groucho, Harpo and Chico. Or Moe, Larry and Curly. Or Rob, Chip and Ernie (anyone who used to watch the old "My Three Sons" TV show will get that one. The others, in order, are: Donald Duck's 3 nephews, the Marx Brothers and the 3 Stooges).

For three females, hmm, Piper, Paige and Phoebe (the sisters on the "Charmed" TV show)? Masha, Olga and Irina (the Three Sisters in Chekhov's play)? Meg, Jo and Beth (the three oldest sisters in "Little Women". The other one is Amy, in case you wanted to swap)? Rachel, Monica and Phoebe (the 3 women on "Friends")?

2 boys and a girl: Peter, Paul and Mary (folk singing group from the '60s). Or Sam, Dave and Maddie (the love triangle from the old "Moonlighting" TV show). Daisy, Bo and Luke (the Dukes of Hazzard).

2 girls and a boy: Peppermint Patty, Marcie and Charlie Brown (from the Peanuts cartoon). Or Lisa, Maggie and Bart (the kids on the Simpsons).

Smile
