The member list has been removed to prevent automated registrations (for the backlink on the memberlist page) and to reduce memberlist spamming (joining to try to send spam to as many members as possible).
The plan is to provide a member search feature in the future. This will enable members to continue to be able to find the members they are looking for and to ease the PM restrictions as memberlist spamming subsides.
oooooh, but how will we know who's in the top fifty now?
seriously though, thanks for all the hard work, craven. though i have to cringe when i say 'hard work' ever since a certain someone made a joke out of that particular pair of words.
In the future a limited "top" list might be added.

Awww. I kind of enjoyed being on page one, chronologically, if not postwise. Ego slapped down again. Eased pm restrictions is the redeaming virtue.

but when I go to HOME - memberlist still appears in the bar that starts with FAQ
