Hi

I've looked at the threads in help regarding how to post images from other websites

or photos I've taken myself

or images I have previously saved off other websites.

Sorry, but I keep getting terribly confused.
I think I need a REALLY basic, step by step talk-through on how to do each of the above.

I've suceeded to the extent that I've put a link in my post, but that it.

Sorry, but when I'm trying to "get it" I get mixed up when other posters start talking about similar stuff but I don't really have the groundwork yet.

Sanctuary at one point did a good step by step once., but when I finally got a chance to really read it today, I realized I didn't understand some the the terminology. Embarrassed

OK - Pretend I'm your Great Aunt Tilly, who makes great chicken pot pie, but is now trying to get a picture of her cat, Mr. Muffins into a post, and is all in a dither. Very Happy

Hey Chai,

Lets start with an image you want to post. Where is it?
Can you post the link to it?

Chai, if Sanctuary has good instructions, maybe I can just explain the terms. Which ones don't make sense?

ok

place your cursor over the picture you want
click on your right mouse botton
A drop down list will show up.. at the very bottom of that list is a word "properties" .. select properties

once you do that, another list pops up on your screen.
you will see all KINDS of jibberish in there..
the only combo of jibberish you need to pay attention to is the one that will end in
JPG, GIF or BMP

After you find the gibberish that ends in one of those letter combinations, you will need to copy it.
It is usually titled " Address" or URL-
do you know how to copy words from the screen?
You will put your mouse over the begining of the sentance and hit the LEFT mouse botton.
If done right, you should see the whole " Address" or URL gibbirish highlighted in blue
after it is highlighted in blue, use your right mouse button and select COPY

now-
from A2k " post reply ' options..
( the above directions need to be done before you hit reply.. OR if you are savvy enough.. you can have 2 windows open at once. One with the image you want to post, the other, with a2k open and ready to post a reply in)

Now, select IMG- a small screen pops up.
Here is where you need to 'paste' that gibberish.
you can, from this point , hit CONTROL and V at the same time.. if done right, you should see that sentance of gibberish in the little box

then.. just hit OK.

Chai Tea, what kind of system are you using? i.e. Mac or Windows? what browser ... Internet Explorer or Firefox or something else?

the instructions will vary depending on your starting point.

Thanks shewolf, I'll try that later.

But first.....
How do I post a picture I've taken on a digital camera, that I have saved in either Kodak Easyshare or on my hard drive as a jpeg?

Soon I'm gonna want to post pictures of the completed house renovation.
