Against individuation 'therapy'

Modern 'psychological therapies' employ hypnosis. They set up a false subject, a ghost, within the body of the person that is not the person himself. Statements that conjure up the ghost or false subject include 'how are you feeling?', 'what is your body doing right now?'. The separation of identity from feelings and body sets up a false subject in the individual and is immediately accompanied by feelings of strangeness. This subject retains will but has no body or feelings, and is reduced to the status of spectator. The giving up of will and autonomy from ones feelings and body establishes a state of hypnosis. Any changes in the individual are then attributed to the therapist. This is what therapy aims for.

What counts as a 'cure' or 'individuation' in these therapies is merely a reformulation of the moral and behaviourial standards that society demands of the wayward individual. In other words, the particular style, practice and theory of a therapy is a direct reflection of the standards of society. It is society that constructs therapy. A close examination of therapeutic theory and technique will reveal the prejudices of the society. Therapy corals the individual away from society. Therapy is demanded when the experiences of the individual threaten society and its belief systems. This is hardly 'individuation'.

INDIVIDUAL therapty

The assumption is there IS a subject, individual, person or self to be……...Changed…….. by another subject, individual, person or self.

…an assumption itself that might not have an owner.
