Ahem...
Sorry to disappoint you, but filling the forms and gathering other documents alone can take 4-6 weeks. The decision can be done in 1 day, or the process can go on for months. Welcome to the Kafkian world of DIMIA :-( .

Not to mention that the permanent residency can be gained only after 2 years living in Australia on Temporary Spouse Visa.

Yes, in general, accountants have a very good chance. Provided they have a good command of English, of course.

But people - this is not a migration forum. Migration to Oz is in general transparent process but very complex with many tangents and quickly changing rules. Please use the links I quoted (they are in here and onwards).

Hi kay,

That's great! But read the grant carefully - your husband only gets a permanent visa (subclass 100) if:
Quote:
at the time you apply you have been in a spouse relationship with your partner for 5 years or more, or 2 years or more where there are dependent children of the relationship

Source:
http://www.immi.gov.au/migration/family/partners/part1_spousevisa.htm

Otherwise, it's provisional (subclass 309)...
