There is a common English word that is nine letters long. Each time you remove a letter from it, it still remains an English word - from nine letters right down to a single letter. What is the original word, and what are the words that it becomes after removing one letter at a time?
Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Evil or Very Mad BLAINE

This is starting to go into familiar territory. I suppose there are only so many riddles to go around.

no it's startling.

There is another solution. I'm sure of it (well, maybe not sure but I think there is). If someone can think of another one please tell us!

starting is not 9 letters long, I can count. I was, as usual, just hinting at the answer without giving it.

Let's see 'IT', then 'I' - rather too easy I'd say
