Just a quick question for a few quick responses to compare notes.

Just now my 3 pages of "search" updates disappeared ... no, sorry, they were reduced to about 3 or 4 from 3 pages.

Did this happen to anyone else?

Just curious.

Thanks.

No idea of what happened. My A2K experience has been a bit "glitchy" of late. This is the newest odd happening. Confused
Just letting you know.

Not here. Are you clicking "Your Topics", or is it something else?

No, it was "new posts", jespah. I went to another site & when I returned there were only 4 posts, when previously there'd been 3 pages. But it's ok today. Thanks for responding.

I think when you leave A2K and come back there are obviously many less new posts...in any case it happens to me a lot...you just have to wait for them to pile up again.

Maybe it is some sort of 'bozone' filter - automatically deletes religious rants and dull homilies on people's cats or children or what they ate last.....

No, I often visit other sites while A2King. For example news sites, then I post here again. And the "new posts" list remains the same. Generally the old posts don't vanish unless I've logged out then come back later.

From my own experience here, I usually lose the ability to access New Posts (those which I have not viewed) as soon as I add another comment into a thread I have previously been a part of. It does not always go that way; but, it does so enough times that I try to sift through all the new posts and see what grabs my interest before adding into my pre-existing threads. Any time I leave A2K and return I automatically start off at square one.

Ah, it appears that either the A2K page is being closed (not just minimized, but closed) and/or you're signing out of the site and then coming back. Either way, you'll lose the list of new posts and it will reset to whenever you came back.

Hmmmm, most of the time it happens to me, it is as Jespah says. Sometimes it seems to happen out of the blue, and I think, oh, the a2k board prolly does it once a day. But then I never keep notes on what I just did, and Jespah, who should know, is presumably right.

This is part of an overall sense of mystery to me. Mystery is very important in life, you know.. a certain vaporous film of unknowability even for us materialists. Thus, when New Posts tells me there are 65, I only have 42, or some equivalent proportion.

I also have, on average, three pages on New Posts. But once when I was visiting some friends in Napa and I used their computer, there were more than 500 posts sitting in newness. I figured that was something special to Napa, perhaps the terroir of the soil.
