And what popular show did he play in?
Edited to change topic title to broaden the discussion.
Oh, for gosh sake, Reyn, I remember Bob Steele, Ken Maynard, and that bunch.
Paladin in Have Gun Will Travel.
Who the heck are those guys?
I have a bit of useless trivia: Do you know who is the very Paladin of reasonable and courteous discourse at this site?

please don't call attention to me...... it's embarassing....
No idea. Looks a very dubious character though.

And, we have a winner! Well done!
But he's not really Palladin... he's Richard Boone.

Sounds like a good topic to start.....trivia!
Have Gun Will Travel Theme Song
"Ballad of Paladin" by Johnny Western, Richard Boone, and Sam Rolfe
Performed by Johnny Western
Have Gun Will Travel reads the card of a man.
A knight without armor in a savage land.
His fast gun for hire head's the calling wind.
A soldier of fotune is the man called Paladin.
Tico, Tico, Where do you roam?
Tico, Tico Far, far from home.
He travels on to wherever he must;
A chess knight of silver is his badge of trust.
There are campfire legends that the plainsmen spin
Of the man with the gun,
of the man called Pa-l-l-l-l-a-din
Good ole Letty! I knew she'd come by with the theme song. hehe, Scary when you get to know people well.
Heck, I even remember Roy Rogers who was my hero. Actually, I really, really liked Trigger--I was six years old and I coveted that horse.
BTW, I also wanted to do away with Dale Evans--it sort of spoiled it for me to see her and Roy all lovey dovey.
I liked Bullet too... there's not a lot of dogs than can keep up with a jeep...
More trivia.. who played Clarabelle?
close Letty but no cigar. Captain Kangaroo was however, played by the same guy who played Clarabelle.
Save the cigar for Ticomaya, bear. <smile>. Bob Krenshaw, henshaw or some such name.
Hey, Reyn. Yep, scary.
"Have Gone Will Travel" was my fave Western. The guy was an existential hero (though I had no idea what that meant) and a dandy to boot. Great stuff...
D'artagnm, you are obviously too young to know that it was Gun, not Gone. You must have been reading too much Sartre in those days.
