1940-0421, War, the First US KIA of WW2.
CPT Robert M. Losey, US Army Air Corps, was the first American serviceman killed in WW2. He was an air attaché at the American embassy in Finland, CPT Losey was killed during a Russian air raid on April 21, 1940.

First successful test flight of an American made helicopter, Vought-Sikorsky VS-300

1940-0615, Race, the US Military Has a Total of Five Black Officers
Three of Them Chaplains and 4,000 Black Soldiers.

1941-0615, War, the Last US Cavalry Charge into Battle.
E Troop, 26th Cavalry Regt rode 72 horses into battle against the Japanese in the Philippines. The US won the battle.

1941-1115, Gay, Nazi’s Ban Gays.
SS chief Himmler orders the arrest and concentration of all homosexuals in Germany. Excluded were certain top Nazi officials who happened to be gay, including Himmler.

1941-1207, War, this is What Started Japanese Internment Camps.
During the Pearl Harbor invasion, a Japanese fighter crash landed on a small island. There were 140 inhabitants three of them of Japanese descent. The three Japanese Hawaiians began defending the fighter-pilot, shooting one Hawaiian, and attempting to help the airman escape the Island.
The US Navy studied this in depth. The bottom line, Japanese have a very strong allegiance to their motherland.

1942-0110, Leadership, 12 Japanese Rules for the Philippines:
Salute Japanese Soldiers.
Display Japanese flag on every house.
Everybody must wear the sunrise arm band on your left arm.
You must carry your certificate of residence.
Do not avoided Japanese soldiers, welcome them.
Do not charge false prices and you will be paid a fair price for your goods.
You must carry a lantern if walking at night or you will be shot.
Do not listen to Chinese propaganda.
Arson and robbers will be shot.
You must have permission from your mayor to carry a rifle.
You can find a job with the Japanese military.
Be obedient.
