Did what you learned from each of the courses you have taken justify your taking the course? I am asking about the educational value (e.g., what you learned, what skills you acquired), not the credential value (e.g., obtaining a certain degree).

Well, keep in mind there are prerequisites and other required classes. If I hadn't taken Tax Law, I would not have been able to graduate law school and, even if I could have, I never would have been able to pass the bar. Tax law is pretty much always on the bar exam.

What did I learn? That I never wanted to be a tax lawyer.

I think it is important for the student to be genuinely interested & curious about the subject. This bond with the material seems to keep the criteria permanently stored in mind.
