My temporary French housemate is interested in getting a cell phone. As she will only be here for 4 months, she would prefer the euro style pre-paid cell phone system. She was given a list of cell phone service providers, one of which was a prepaid provider called zeezoo! (their !).
Do any of you zeezoo? Has anyone checked out the package? Thanks!
sorry, i'm not into checking out packages...
You already have a package.
Thanks anyway, RP.

coming from a Guru in Training, i take that as the highest form of compliment
Hey! I have a package too! And I still don't know what the hell a Zeezoo is!
hheeeeeey! When did my title change?
Those prepay cell phones are one of the biggest ripoffs going today.
when you hit 25G's, you posting machine, you...
All I can tell you is that I know a more than a few people who have tried them and every last one of them complained.
Virgin was one company that comes to mind.
Must be a slow day in the consumer electronics forum.
Everyday is a slow day in the consumer electronics forum. Kind of like the sports forum.
That's why this thread was featured....
But, for someone who will be stateside for only 4 months, what other option does she have?
yes i'd like to go to zee zoo.
when are we going?
Well since you have to sign at least a 1-year contract for cell phones, sounds like pre-pay is the only option.
Does this French housemate clean houses in a French Maid uniform?
Funny, I had a girl from France want to take a room here. But she wasn't going to be in the US until the last week of August, and I wanted to lock everything down before that.
Dammit, no eye candy in my place right now.
Dunno zeezoo from seesaw. I use a trac phone. More to the point, I have one. I used it on one trip to Montana, and one to Albuquerque. It's great for keeping people posted on arrival times on long trips, and invaluable when you get lost in town. You can have continuous navigation assistance.
The phone and a one year card cost about $180.00, and the minutes are too pricey for steady conversation, but it worked well everywhere I've been, and is way cheaper per year than any other option. If that's the kind of use she will be making of it, it's her kind of deal. Watch out for some of the other cards they sell. With many of them, the minutes expire at the end of a month, whether used or not.
What's a trac phone?
Slappy, so far, I haven't seen her clean anything besides dishes, so I dunno if she puts on a maid outfit.
Sounds similar to the zeezoo. You buy the phone. Mine was around $60.00. Then you buy a card authorizing minutes. Then you spend an agonizing 15 or 30 minutes on computer or phone punching in authorization numbers, and presto! you've got a functioning phone with no monthly charges.
right..... Justine can't get a lot of detailed info about zeezoo from their website. It's frustrating and not instilling trust.
