Hi. Happy Holidays 2024! I'm just a bit curious. Does anyone on this site celebrate Hannukah and/or Kwanzaa?

I'm a Christian. I don't do either holiday. I'm not Jewish and Kwanzaa goes against my beliefs as a Christian.

Please respond soon. Thank you.

@JGoldman10,
How come no one else has responded to this thread yet?

I know there are SOME African American members of this site. Are there any JEWISH ones?

@JGoldman10,
I don't celebrate either holiday but I do celebrate the contributions that Jews and African-Americans have made to the culture of the United States and to my intellectual life every day.

@JGoldman10,
Although I do not celebrate Hannukah, I do celebrate the day of Passover on the 14th day of the first month.

I also celebrate the following seven day Festival of Unleavened Bread.

Are you a Christian descendant of Abraham and do you celebrate the day of Passover and if not, 'WHY'?

@JGoldman10,
To be Jewish you have to be a member of the tribe of Judah, none of the members of the other 12 tribes of Israel are Jewish, but all are descendants of Jacob the son of Abraham.

@The Anointed,
Among the top ten discoveries about Abraham:

Quote:
ABRAHAM, Jacob, Moses, King David, and King Solomon in all his splendour, never existed, a 15-year study of archaeological evidence has concluded.

@The Anointed,
Name any person, not delusional or a liar, who contends that Old Testament stories are not fiction.

Do you imagine your eternal energy/cosmic consciousness/pantheological pixie believes biblical balderdash?

@JGoldman10,
How does Kwanzaa go against your Christian beliefs?

It's a non religious celebration of African Culture.

I don't see anything about it that a Christian would find offensive/ or counter to their beliefs.

I suspect this is a kneejerk unthinking response that any non Christian belief is automatically wrong.

You could prove me wrong by telling me what aspects of Kwanzaa you have a problem with.

The number of people in the religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam that claim the prophet Abraham as their common forefather, account for more than half of the world's total population today. Which one would you like me to name, perhaps KING Charles.

And guess what old mate, we don't give a bugger if you and your handful of atheist archeologists, believe or not. But you will, believe me mate, YOU WILL.

@The Anointed,
So your go to name is a product of extreme priviledge whose position as head of the C of E and being divinely chosen to be monarch, is pretty much dependent upon being a Christian (muslim.)

That's not the best example, who is your next choice, the Pope?

How about Billy Graham?

@ekename,
Gentlemen, this is verbosity manifest.

What's the question, naming an archeologist, naming a truculent archeologist?

I see you know your innuendo well.

TAKE YOUR HANDS OFF MY..........!
