i think it's no good to the end customers
and the amount of jobless will no reduce only by this trade policy to china
industry like textile, manufacture is transfered from countries and regions high cost to cheaper ones is reasonable, for world economic's need
hope to hear different voices about this Cool

China has low labour costs. This means that companies will strive to ensure that their good are made in China. This means that jobs will be exported to China. This means that unemployment outside of China increases. This then threatens local economies outside of China.

It also means that labour costs will remain low in China. That does nothing for the wellbeing of the average Chinese worker. It puts more money in the corporate coffers which does nothing for the average person anywhere.

I don't care if I have to spend a dollar or two more for a tee shirt in Australia if it means that Australian workers and Chinese workers are not being exploited.

yeah, i also don't care about whether i have to pay more for my daily consumption,

for the level of it in peking is rather higher than other cities of china

yet the question is dual-propose of washington,

on one hand, US customers have to pay more than 6 billion bucks against the limitation,

and on the other hand, the importer's coffers and the manufacturer's, i can not tell the different at all,

at the end all for the exchequer as taxation,
and inside adjustment between this two lines will be more efficient?

for bush, maybe manufacturer's interest is more important?

You're right in that every country - more or less (mine seems to be less) has to worry about its domestic producers. It's probably not so much Bush as various members of the Congress who are being pressured by domestic interests. Those trade lobbyists will always put pressure on local representatives to limit the import of competitors products and seek to maximise export of their products.

The trick is to suck others into the idea that a free trade agreement will actually benefit them. Shocked

you have deep insight on this matter
are you in this line?

as far as i know, we do import cashmere and fleece from Australia, maybe trade dependence between this two countries is tighter than any other countries?

is there many artiles made in china on markets like in EU and North American?

for recent focus on sino-EU and sino-US, especially the latter, i do not pay too much attention to others,

i wonder whether i can know more about yours?

have a good day:)

No just an interested observer.

China is a big trading partner with Australia but I believe that the balance is in China's favour as here in Australia we have decimated our manufacturing industry. Again it's cheaper to import than make goods for ourselves.

We import a great deal of manufactured goods of all types from China as well as textile goods and footwear.

Australia recognised China back in the early 1970s and we have been strong trading partners ever since.

And no particular insight, just general knowledge

Very Happy

But lets remember, America was happy for China to carry a trade defeceit for 50+ years. America has imposed the 'free market economy' on the world. America is now reaping the benefits not quite as well as 1 Country (China). but still a heck of a lot better than most countries.

You cant have the cake AND eat it!

Well,it is heavy topic for China as we have consulted with US for 7 times and finally got the agreement.China can export garment to US with the limit quantity every year. That is to say,China go back the time of quotas! It's really a bad news for Chinese garment factories!

We are the victim of this policy. We can't export much garment to US as we ever did. Now,we have to open the other country markets to survive in the competitive garment market.

As somebody said they can't care about whether they pay more one or two dollars on one piece T-shirt,but you may not know how much Chinese factory can earn on one piece T-shirt.I can give you an example:If customer give us an order with the quantity 1000pcs,we can earn US$0.5/pcs,if 10000pcs,we only earn about US$0.20/pcs,if 100000pcs,the importers can find cheaper manufactory which will do it with the profit US$0.05-0.10/pcs.In that case, the importers can earn much more and will be benifit with the local customers.

In my opinion, the impact of sino-US for the textile refect the relationship of Sino-US on the political issue. We hope we can see a real peace world, without war, without any harmful issue in future!
