Poll: Merry Christmas 2024! Doing anything special for the holiday?

Hello. Merry Christmas 2024! I haven't really been thinking about Christmas this year but I hope you people have a nice holiday.

Are you people doing anything special for the holiday? I am just curious.

I'm probably not. I have work to do and business to take care of.

Please respond soon. Thank you.

@JGoldman10,
I'm a little surprised that as of the time of the making on this post the relatives I live with don't even have their Christmas tree up. I know people are busy but that just strikes me as a little weird.

I hope they will invite me to Christmas dinner this year.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hannukah to all who observe those holidays as religious occasions. Our tree is finally up (finished decorations on it yesterday)...and all is ready for a Christmas dinner on Wednesday with a bit of NFL action on the telly.

@Frank Apisa,
Hi Frank. What football game is going to be played Christmas Day?

Only NFL games...no college.

Early game: Chefs vs. Steelers

Late game: Ravens vs. Texans.

I'm sailing my yacht to Fiji for a fest with my friends the Fijians.

The Fiji joke is the best joke I have heard in a long time. Have fun there. Careful with the curly hair...which can always be a problem wherever you find it.

For literal years, you have gone on about being a devout Born Again Christian, who doesn't celebrate Christmas and other holidays.

@tsarstepan,
The relatives I live with didn't invite me to Thanksgiving dinner THIS YEAR. I hope I DO get invited to Christmas dinner with them.

I would like to spend SOME time with my relatives even though they aren't my IMMEDIATE family.

I was trying to call my mom who lives in a rehab center and nursing facility over the phone but facility staff didn't pick up the phone.

Apparently Christmas Eve ISN'T the best time to reach out to my mom over the phone.

So what? Who cares? I'm in a festive mood. I am curious to know if anyone on this site is doing anything special for the holidays.

@JGoldman10,
My relatives and I were supposed to have Christmas dinner but that was cancelled because my aunt hurt her hip and she's in the hospital.

@Mame,
So what did you wind up doing?

We cooked a turkey with all the fixings and invited a single friend over. I'd like to do a ham or prime rib next year. I am so over turkey!

I just returned to celebrate with my less fortunate relatives for New Years. We plan to kill four fatted calves and give the gristle to the dogs. I want to salute with a big tub of tequila but I don't drink anymore. I hope it rains like hell at midnight to keep the fireworks quiet. My wife is going to dress up like the Statue of Liberty and do the "Elaine's Dance" hopefully not on top of the table this year. I plan to go to bed about 9:30 on New Year's Eve.
