No, fashion is not only designed for the young. But maybe you have to be "young at heart" to pay attention to fashion?
what is fashion? A trend? Something that is 'cool' and everyone wants to participate in? open up a fashion magazine...look at those designs and trendy clothing and sexy outfits! would you say that these contempory clothing items are designed for the young people of today ,more than for the older generations? think about it and let me know.
Fashion is about making money.
Well, of course, most fashion design is aimed at the younger generation(s). They're the one's who will be most ready and willing to spend money on new trends. Older people are pretty well set in their habits of couture and are not likely to fall for each new fad and fashion trend. Nor are they likely to want to spend perfectly good money for a label as opposed to quality workmanship. Fashion, almost by definition, is designed for the toung.
Fashion is for the insecure.
A magazine has to tell them what to wear.
I think there are some amazing looks/clothes around, much better than when I was young.
Im all for expressing yourself with the variety of clothes taht are available but Id hate to be brainwashed into what I buy.
Fashion is definately aimed towards the young.Which is odd because its a business and the generation with the most money are people in their 60's.
Opportunity (thrift) shops are for the clever! (of any generation):wink:
Ooooh, thats the first time Ive thought of myself as clever.Bought a mirror and a dress form charity/thrift shops in teh past 2 weeks.
Tho I dont actually wear the mirror.
