I know that i can delete a post that i have put on A2K, but is it not possible to delete the original question or statement so that it does not appear on A2K anymore, and also show in my Topics list, once i have received all the relevant answers to that Topic??

Nope. But you can edit to change the title and contents. Doing this to give yourself a winning post in an argument earns a bad reputation, of course.

If you wish for a brief topic that you do not consider it necessary to retain, post it in the "Testing" forum. Topics there are routinely deleted within a specified period of time. You might want to note in your opening post that the purpose for posting in that forum is so that the topic will be deleted.
