@hightor,
By now, Putin’s presidency has never looked weaker. And in Moscow, many only understand the seriousness of the situation after Putin's speech this morning.

"He who chooses the path of evil destroys himself.

He sends convoys of soldiers to wipe out life in another country and he cannot stop them from running away and betraying him when life strikes back.

Terrorising [people] with missiles, humiliating himself when they are shot down so that he can get Shaheds (Iranian-made attack UAVs).

He despises people and sends hundreds of thousands to war, only to eventually barricade himself in Moscow Oblast against those he armed.

Russia has long masked its weakness and foolishness with propaganda. And now there is so much chaos that no amount of lies can hide it. And all of this is due to one man, who threatens people with 1917 again and again [the year when the October Revolution started in the Russian Empire, bringing it to an end – ed.], although he is not capable of leading [his nation] to anything else.

Russia's weakness is obvious. It is a full-scale weakness. And the longer Russia keeps its troops and mercenaries on our soil, the more chaos, pain and problems it will create for itself. This is also obvious. Ukraine is able to protect Europe from the spread of Russian evil and chaos."

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Are the elites fleeing?

It is reported that Prime Minister Mishustin's plane has left for St. Petersburg.

Several other business jets are also on their way to Russia's northern capital.

In addition, the richest member of the government, Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, has already left the country.

@Walter Hinteler,
Doesn't sound like Putin has confidence in being able to hold Moscow.

Latvia has already tightened its security measures on the border with Russia. Russian citizens cannot enter Latvia in view of the current situation, Foreign Minister Edgards Rinkēvičs wrote on Twitter. At the same time, however, he stressed that there was currently "no direct threat" to Latvia.

The German Foreign Ministry had already adjusted the travel and security advice for Germans in Russia this morning. It now states that the affected areas and in particular the city of Rostov and its environs should be avoided. "In Moscow, state facilities, especially military facilities, should be avoided as far as possible. The city centre should be avoided until further notice."

Plane used by Belarusian top officials and Lukashenko family lands in Turkiye

A plane used by top Belarusian officials and members of Alexander Lukashenko's family took off from Minsk on the night of 23-24 June, landing in Bodrum, Trkiye.

The plane in question is a Canadair CL-600−2b19 Challenger 850.

The aircraft took off from Minsk at midnight on 24 June, circled over the Caspian Sea and Georgia and landed in Bodrum, Trkiye, on the Mediterranean coast. It seems that the plane specifically bypassed the southern regions of Russia.

Statement by Preghozin in response to putin's speech
New statement by Prigozhin:

"The President was deeply mistaken about the betrayal of the homeland; we are patriots of our homeland. We fought and continue to fight. All the fighters of Wagner PMC. No one is going to surrender at the request of the President, Federal Security Service or anyone else, because we do not want the country to continue to live in corruption, deceit and bureaucracy. When we were fighting in Africa, we were told we needed Africa and after that it was abandoned because they stole all the money that was supposed to help. When we were told we were at war with Ukraine, we went and fought. But it turned out that ammunition, armaments, the money that was intended for this purpose was also stolen. And the officials are sitting, saving them for themselves, just for the case that has happened today, when someone goes to Moscow. Now they are not saving anything. They are hitting with planes and helicopters the columns where peaceful people are moving. They are hitting, because they are missing the targets, they are hitting wherever they can. We are patriots. And those who oppose us today are those who have gathered around the scum".

@thack45,
I'll bet the Biden crime family is involved somehow. They're probably bankrolling Prigozhin.

It is a dramatic turning point in the attempted coup by the private Wagner army: the troops, who were on their way to Moscow, are turning back, according to an audio message by Yevgeny Prigozhin. This was to "avoid bloodshed".

@Walter Hinteler,
Quote:
President Aleksandr G. Lukashenko of Belarus was in talks on Saturday with the head of the Wagner private military group, Yevgeny V. Prigozhin, according to a statement released by the Belarusian state news agency. The statement noted that Lukashenko was acting with the approval of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia.

Lukashenko said Prigozhin had agreed to stop the movement of his forces inside the Russian Federation and take other steps to de-escalate the crisis.

"According to his own account reported in Belarusian state media, Mr. Lukashenko said Mr. Putin had raised the possibility of killing Mr. Prigozhin. But Mr. Lukashenko said that he had urged against a rushed response, saying that “a bad peace is better than any war.” The Belarusian leader said that he had then called Mr. Prigozhin, warning him that Mr. Putin intended to “squash him like a bug.” The account could not be immediately confirmed."

This can't be true. Why would anyone advertise this, if so?

"From Minsk, the Belarusian president, Alexander Lukashenko, gave his version of the weekend’s events on Tuesday in a long and rambling address full of behind-the-scenes insight into his phone calls with Putin that the Kremlin is unlikely to thank him for making public."

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jun/27/putins-portrayal-of-response-to-uprising-as-a-kremlin-win-is-proving-a-hard-sell

What's really going on? Will Prigozhin fall out of a window? Will his family be killed (as allegedly threatened)? Is Lukashenko to be trusted? It's like an Italian soap opera.

C'mon... let's speculate Smile

@Mame,
I believe it. CIA picked up rumblings of Prigozhin's coup plans and warned Putin. Putin seems to have figured it as some sort of misinformation operation, because he thought he knew what was going on better than anybody.

Lukashenko may have been picked up in an intercept. And this release might just be a backdoor to let Putin know what's going on. Lukashenko is a grasshopper between two elephants and Putin is the bigger elephant.

Think how relieved Putin is he hasn't had time to place tactical nuclear weapons in Belorussia yet as he promised. I think Prigozhin may well end up in Syria or Africa or dead.

A lot of Wagner troops, the first liner ex-prisoner troops will take French leave, more experienced troops will take up the Russian offer to join the Russian Army. The pirates, and freebooter vets of Africa will end up in Africa.

I don't think any of them will want to join the dead cream of the Russian Army dead on the road to to and then in retreat from Kiev.
