They are indeed, Ellpus, but they grow in warmer climes than Bright (the little town in the photograph.)
Bright (nice name! Very Happy ) is cold, getting into snow country. I can feel the chill in the air when I look at that photograph.

I actually use a PowerPoint presentation as an icebreaker in training. I tell the group that I am going to take them through some de-stress training. Now my client groups get quite grumpy at this New Age stuff so I have to move quickly to ensure that the point of the presentation is made.

I found the presentation somewhere - it's not an original by me but I wihs it was. Anyway there's a blurry slide of a waterfall surrounded by greenery. There's a nice gentle classical piano soundtrack softly playing and the group reads the following words which come up slowly....

Picture yourself near a stream.
Birds are singing in crisp, cool mountain air.
Nothing can bother you here.
No one knows this secret place.
Hear the sounds, and enjoy the peace.
Feel the sweet air on your face, your skin.
You are in total seclusion from that place called the world.
The soothing sound of a gentle waterfall fills the air with a cascade of serenity.
The water is clear.
You can easily make out the face of the person whose head you're holding under the water.

There now, ..................feeling better?

Beautiful tree, CJ.

Here's a lovely spring shot taken in the park near my house. I wish I could have found an autumn photo.

Thank you for the Jacaranda tree CJ, I fell in love with them in Perth. I will now come to San Diego one day, now that I know you have them as well.

Here is my mellow picture, looking out from the front gates of our farmhouse in Charolles. It was the final day of our stay there last summer, and we were up with the lark, all packed and ready for the long drive up to Calais.....just as the sun was rising.

I don't see the picture Spanky <cry>

Yes please, do come to San Diego - but the Jacarandas bloom
only in May/June, keep that in mind.

Sorry CJ, I had just exceeded my limit on dlx. Shame really, as that particular picture showed me, dancing around in the foreground in my underwear.

I have now signed up with photobucket and will enter a less embarrassing photo here.....hope it works......

...and just to the left of this shot, you can see our nearest neighbour.

A ruined Castle! Mellow place indeed...no traffic, country lanes....in the middle of bloody nowhere, really....

Here you are - my contribution to the mellowness. In the outback around Coober Pedy it's pretty much all gibber plain but about a half hour drive north of the town is the Breakaways which is the northern end of the Stuart Ranges. Stark but quite beautiful.
