The link was for a Horticultural Therapy Training School in the UK. Here's an American link:

http://www.ahta.org/

I'll undoubtedly start a thread of Conspicuous Trepidation in the next week or so. On Friday I have an appointment with a specialist surgeon (obstetrical oncology) to make a date to have a mysterious and inconvenient lump biopsied.

The chances of it being a just a benign bit of encapuslated debris from an early hysterectomy are very good, but I'm a tad nervous all the same.

Venting on A2K will keep me coping in the Real World.

Hold your dominion.

Oh Noddy, not again! Sad

This is too much, it really is!

Don't worry about me, you hold your dominion!

Oh honestly! This is just not fair!

Good luck to you. I'll search out that thread to keep posted.

Appointment coming up for you on Friday, Noddy. (It's Thursday night here) You must be getting a bit edgy. I'll be thinking of you & hoping this is all over as soon as possible. And that the findings will be exactly as you expect. Good luck!

(Oh, update on Noddy 24: She survived the summer in a rather tired state, but is now getting lots of rain .... & is due for a prune & a good feed soon. She's been rather confused by the odd changes in our usual weather patterns, but I'm sure she'll perk up soon. Just thought you'd be interested to hear this! Very Happy )

Off the check out that link on Horticultural Therapy Training. Very Happy

Ms. Olga--

By this time tomorrow I should have a date and time for Under
The Knife. Since I'm a Control Freak, having a time line for uncertainty will be soothing.

You are taking marvelous care of Noddy24. Perhaps we can be pruned on the same day if this fits in with your schedule?

Can you become a horticultural therapist in Australia?

Hold your dominion.

Well certainty & knowing what's actually happening & when, beats waiting & worrying any day, Noddy. That's not being a control freak, it's being the captain of your ship, the mistress of your fate & all that .... ! Very Happy
And that will be Step #1 over .... and before long the lot will be finished & you'll have the good news! Very Happy

I don't know about "marvellous care", but Noddy24 got her fair share of the many bucketfuls of grey (used) water that I regularly carted from the house, to the verandah, then on to the garden during the summer. (Melbournians took to complaining about "bucket back" afflictions from all that lugging! Laughing)

I'd never hear of horticultural therapists prior to your link, Noddy. Which is not to say that they don't exist here. But I suspect most folk here indulge in this form of therapy in the privacy of their own gardens. Like me! (Melbourne is known as "the garden city", because we're all obsessed!)
But it'd certainly be a great way to earn a living!

Relax

Do you recall that happy bike
With bundles on our backs?
How near to heaven it was like
To blissfully relax!
In cosy tavern of good cheer
To doff our heavy packs,
And with a mug of foamy beer
Relax.

Learn to relax: to clean the mind
Of fear and doubt and care,
And in vacuity to find
The perfect peace that's there.
With lassitude of heart and hand,
When every sinew slacks,
How good to rest the old bean and
Relax, relax.

Just sink back in an easy chair
For forty winks or so,
And fold your hands as if in prayer,
--That helps a lot, you know.
Forget that you are you awhile,
And pliable as wax,
Just beatifically smile . . .
Relax, relax, relax.

Progress, but not closure.

The Super Surgeon feels that since the lump is almost certainly benign and since the area has been badly damaged by radiation therapy twenty years ago that a biopsy--let alone a removal--is not his department.

If my Gastric Man feels that removing the lump would remove some of my messy, sordid symptoms, the Gastric Man should recommend a general surgeon.

I have some thinking to do.

Ms Olga, littlek, thanks for your concern.

Indeed, Noddy, quite a bit of thinking to do, by the sounds of it. "Not his department" is not very helpful, is it? So where do you go (apart from the Gastric Man) for good, sound advice about whether to proceed or not? Should the Gastric Man talk it over with your GP (& you, too, of course!) before a decision is made?
This is not exactly the Clear Plan of Action you had in mind, is it, Noddy? Quite the opposite, it seems. Sad I'm sorry it's been like this. I wish things were much clearer for you.)

(I would have responded much earlier than now if I hadn't been so damned busy! I've hardly been online the past few days & probably won't be indulging in too much A2K for a wee bit.) Long term plans/negotiations X 3, short term employment X 1 (full time) have really kept me on the run. I don't know whether I'm coming or going at the moment! Confused )

Nothing for it but to > > > > Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm away!

Msolga--

Not to worry about your delayed response. I've been convincing myself that Everything Works for the Best in this Best of All Possible Worlds.

I have an appointment set up with the Gastric Man. I think I want to leave both the GP and the Non-Surgical Oncologist out of the loop for the moment.

Meanwhile the sun is shining and thistledown is flying and the neighbors must be running out of fireworks after two weeks of celebrations.
