Hello,
From time to time I get notifications like this: "facebook "you have a new friend suggestion", but when I go to the profile page of the person who sent me a friend suggestion, what I see is an "Add to friends" button ", that is, I do not see any indication that this person sent me a "Friend request"
If it is a "friend suggestion" and not a "friend request" then it is probably coming from Facebook and not from the person who is being suggested.
Facebook makes these sort of suggestions in the hope that some of them turn out to be old friends that you haven't heard from in years. They have some sort of algorithm to try to detect such old friendships. Who knows how good the algorithm is.
So, if it is no one that you've ever heard of, then ignore.
If it is your best friend from second grade that you haven't heard from in years, then maybe make a friend request.
