Wow, that's a very big question, dewy! Sorry, but I can't answer that in one post (even if I was an expert! Which I'm not.). The thing is, different Australians feel threatened by different things. Are you asking about how various Australian governments have perceived outside threats since 1945?

And why do you ask?

I really need the exact wording of the question before I can make any useful suggestions. Have you got it there?

How have Australians perceptions of threats changed since 1945? (Effects of Cold War) Is how the question is worded.

Hmmm. ...
Year 10.

How many words?
Is it more about your perceptions or about historical facts?
A history assignment?
And could you tell me which aspects of Oz history you studied in class that are related to this essay?

Questions, questions .... Very Happy

No word limit. Where in a group and we all have one question to do and have to present it. We were studying communism and the red menace and stuff like that.

Ah, a presentation to the class. Is the teacher expecting you to have opinions on what happened, or just outline events as they occurred? The problem is "Australian attitudes" can vary a great deal from group to group. The main political parties would have quite different attitudes to say, the referendum on Communism. Frankly, I'm a little lost as to what's required of you.

Here's a teacher's quide to post 1945 politics in Oz. with a couple of links But it's for HSC/VCE level studies:

What research/planning have you already done?

This may seem obvious, but have you done a Google search?
Find anything useful?

And what about you notes & handouts from class? Have you re-read them?

Facts, my teacher isn't very good. She doesn't really explain much. Do you know a sight that outlines facts of australias history or something?

You can do this easily (but like me, you might come up with a lot of information that is WAY too advanced & complicated for year 10)

Go to Google, then include words like: "the cold war in australia"

or

"australian reactions to the cold war"

or

"the petrov affair", etc, etc ... (endless sites!)

I've found lots of stuff & so will you, but I suspect a lot of it might be too complex for your purposes. You also could be up all night, reading!

When do you have to give this presentation?

Tomorrow! Surprised

My suggestion then is to refer to the text book you've used in class & your notes. Hey, it might be a good idea to start right now! Idea You're in for a very late night.

Like I've said, there are many, many sites you can access via Google, etc., but I doubt you have the time to wade through them.

Good luck!
