my advisor (avid birder) is being tormented by a birding guide
friend with this question: what are the 12 species of birds that
can be found on all continents (americas, europe, asia, africa,
australia) except antarctic?
so far, we've guessed: osprey, house sparrow, peregrine falcon,
and maybe european starling.
anyone have any thoughts on this?
sarge.
chickens, if domesticated birds are included. ;-)
seriously, i think crows and sea gulls are likely.

true, there is a KFC on every continent!
this requires
Genus species answers, and there are many species of crows.
btw, there is no such thing as a "sea" gull.
Don't forget the park pigeon.
Possibly one or more of the types of vultures?
