That's a peculiar question. I've never heard of anyone being called the best male journalist/reporter......who would make that kind of decision?

Echoing what GB just said. Organisations tend to be going in a different direction, the Grammys is now gender neutral and other awards seem to be going the same way.

Having said that, Orla Guerin, Lyse Doucet and Lindsey Hilsum are all first rate journalists.

Also, I think "best" is very subjective here regardless of gender. Are you talking politics or sports or war reporting? And one person's outstanding reporter is another person's hack.

Agreed, but there is no douting the fact that Laura Kuenssberg is the worst political editor ever to have worked at the BBC.

And I'll put out Nina Totenberg from National Public Radio who covers the Supreme Court. I also enjoyed Cokie Roberts before she passed away a few years ago.
