As i said, i rather think i would prefer your "Hermitage" . . .
This image only gives a partial idea of the huge house which Jackson rather quixotically referred to as The Hermitage. Perhaps it felt as such after having established one to the two major political parties in our country's history, as well as winning the Creek War and the ultimate battle of the War of 1812. The gardens are beautiful and extensive, and it certainly is worth the visit. You couldn't pay me to live in such a house.
