Hello. I'm just a bit curious.
What is so special about Black Friday and Cyber Monday?
I know Black Friday has been around for years and Cyber Monday is a relatively new phenomenon.
Both events aren't just held in America they are international affairs.
I don't know too much about Black Friday and Cyber Monday. I have never participated in either event in my life. I have never done any big-time holiday shopping for anyone. I don't have time and money to go out and do that in any stores in public and/or online.
To me Black Friday and Cyber Monday just seem like ploys to get people to spend their money - capitalism, consumerism and commercialism at work.
When my mother was still around I would buy her a Christmas card and a gift each year, because the holiday was important to her. I didn't really get anything for my brother in a long time when he was still around - he didn't deserve it. I am not going to into why - it's personal.
I got my laptop fixed and it's back home finally and I'm still in the market for a new printer.
I was told the reason the events are important is because you can buy stuff on these days on discount.
As of the time of the posting of this I don't know if I will buy a new printer online on Cyber Monday yet but I'll look into it.
Please help. Thank you.

That pretty much sums it up.
@hightor,
Hello High. Which event is bigger - Black Friday or Cyber Monday?
@JGoldman10,
Over here it is the same event, no distinction.

They're really different types of consumer experiences – Black Friday is for brick-and-mortar store sales and Cyber Monday is focused on e-commerce.
@hightor,
I know but which event is bigger? I'd like to think Cyber Monday is. Don't most people prefer to shop online these days?
@JGoldman10,
Do you mean which event draws more participation or which attracts more actual spending? I'd guess that, yeah, there are probably a lot more people online on any day than there are people shopping in stores on Black Friday but I don't really know.
