San Francisco police officer who missed vaccine deadline dies after COVID-19 diagnosis
https://ktla.com/news/california/san-francisco-police-officer-who-missed-vaccine-deadline-dies-after-covid-19-diagnosis/

A police officer who was placed on leave for missing the city of San Francisco’s deadline to be inoculated has died after being stricken by COVID-19, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

Officer Jack Nyce, 46, tested positive on Nov. 2 and died Saturday at a hospital in Manteca, his wife, Melissa Nyce, told the newspaper Monday.

The Chronicle said Melissa Nyce declined to say whether her husband was vaccinated but the vice president of the San Francisco Police Officers Association, Lt. Tracy McCray, said Jack Nyce was on a 30-day stint of paid administrative leave because he had not received the vaccination required by the city.

The death comes as mandates for government employee vaccinations are seeing some push-back.

Tip 'o the hat to Region Philbis

Aaron Rodgers fined for COVID-19 protocol violations

The NFL's review of the Green Bay Packers' COVID-19 protocols was completed Tuesday,and a league source said the team was fined $300,000, while quarterback Aaron Rodgersand receiver Allen Lazard were each fined $14,650.

They were fined for violations of the protocols that were jointly agreed upon by the NFL and the NFL Players Association.

The source said the Packers' cooperation with the investigation was taken into consideration, but the team was warned that future violations could result in increased discipline, includingpossible change in draft position or loss of draft choice.

Rogers makes $33,000,000 a year. A fine of $15,000 for him is not even a slap on the wrist.

My point exactly. And he's been sidelined which does give him some pain. Also in my mind is that if the NFL players union can't save him, he may find himself a free agent if he won't get the jab.

He died doing what he loved: endangering the public.

Reading about a San Francisco cop, Jack Nyce, 46, who was among the 41 officers put on leave for refusing SF’s Nov. 1st vaccine requirement.

He tested positive for covid Tuesday 11/2. His symptoms got so severe, his wife called EMTs to rush him to the hospital. He died Saturday.

Lotta good the union did for him in backing what max thinks is his right.

@bobsal u1553115,
Bobsal, do you understand that this is a human being who died?

You are mocking his death. That's a little cold. However you feel about the politics, gloating over someone's death seems like a step too far.

@maxdancona,
No colder than the assholes who refuse to get vaccinated and masked and spreading their filth to unsuspecting others. Why are your favorite assholes so inviolate?

E-mail from a friend:

My company just announced they are offering up to a $1000 bonus to all vaccinated employees. The catch is that the bonus will be paid in January if at least 90% of the company is vaccinated against COVID as of December 31. If between 80% and 90% of the company is vaccinated, the bonus is $600 for each vaccinated employee. If the percentage vaccinated is less than 80%, no one gets anything.

I imagine peer pressure is going to be a powerful thing.

@maxdancona,
No. You just claim the infected asshole have the right to infect and kill others.

I'd respect your opinion more if you'd only own up to the fact that your argued "rights" of the infected/unvaxxed jackasses superceed the rest of us and our rights to not be infected unknowingly.

I got bladder cancer from second hand cigarette smoke. I tolerated smokers' rights almost to my death. **** the unvaxxed. Let them be segregated until Covid is under control.

@bobsal u1553115,
You know, being so angry all the time is also a health risk. Your risk of a stress-induced stroke is much higher than your of covid.

You really should relax.

Nothing demonstrates the bankruptcy of your arguments then when you try to misdirect the discussion.

You'll be pointing out squirrels, next.

Another suicide by covid
Anti-Vaccine Doctor Who Called Mask Wearing 'Dangerous' Dies of COVID-19

Dr. Christopher Foley, who criticized mask-wearing and spread false information about a COVID-19 vaccine, passed away from complications of the virus.

The Minnesota doctor pushed back against continued use of masks, writing on his company website that they are "downright dangerous" if worn for extended periods of time. He was also critical of the vaccine, calling it a "human experiment" and advocated for the widespread use of ivermectin and vitamins to cure COVID-19.

Foley's obituary said he passed away from an "unexpected illness," but his son, Logan Foley, confirmed at his funeral that his death was the result of complications from COVID-19.

"Was he vaccinated? No, he was not," Logan said. "If he'd only been vaccinated, wouldn't he still be here? Obviously, we'll never know."
