Quote:MG ROVER was sold last night to Nanjing, China's oldest carmaker and the bidder that had committed the least to British car manufacturing, for close to £60 million.
PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rover's administrator, said that it had chosen Nanjing over the rival suitors, the Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (SAIC) and David James, the company troubleshooter, because its bid was higher and had fewer conditions attached.

I'm having a weirdly visceral reaction to this. MG's are supposed to be sort of rattly, old, coooool Brit cars - it has a huge resonance from my uni days - hopping out of J's car to pick up the muffler when it fell off as we crossed over railroad tracks. Memories.
I don't want them to have a made in China sticker on their butts.
