I noticed we have mold around our second floor window, so I went up into the atttic above the window and I'm trying to figure out if the dark areas are mold as well?

Should I pull the siding off to check the extent of the mold around the window, or just treat the mold and apply new caulking?
From diligent research into funguy, I can defiantly say that Mold is a Welsh town and community in Flintshire UK, and well is a vertical shaft that ends in H2O.
Mould on a window is a pain, but only in the UK.
Remove the mold and provide ventilation whilst contemplating why water in a solid state is lighter than the liquid state.
Y'all have a nice day now.
@JamesPatch,
Yes, it's black mold growing on the wood. I would apply bleach, and commercial fungi removal on Lowes, then scrub the affected areas. Finally, sand the wood and let it dry.
@JonP6,
I'm sorry for reviving an old thread, but I gotta ask it here. Recently noticed A LOT OF mold in the attic and would like to know if it's actually real to remove it all myself. Because it seems impossible...
@NayeliMercer,
Do you have ventilation in the attic? I think determining the source should be the first order of attack. It might be worth hiring a professional mold mitigation specialist.
