@farmerman,
I agree that violating the Emoluments Clause is impeachable.

But I don't see a good case that he violated it, and certainly not to a degree that would justify removing him from office.

. Im not sure the Constitution identifies "degree" of self enrichment from outside sources via the president;s office. I think it only says EMOLUMENTS.

@farmerman,
Impeachment was meant to remove presidents who are so harmful that they are destroying the nation.

A trivial offence that does no real harm to the nation is not what the Framers had in mind.

I didn't say "felonious" verses non.

I said "destroying the nation" verses non.

And yes they did. Impeachment was meant to remove a president that was a danger to the nation, not to remove presidents for trivial offenses.

And yes I've read the Federalist papers. It has been awhile though.

I've also read all the debates of the Framers when they were crafting the Constitution. And all the debates from the ratifying conventions. And all the debates of the First Congress regarding the Bill of Rights.

Of course they did. The only president to never have conceded is Trump.

Of course they didn't. They spent four years trying over and over again to remove a properly elected president. That's not accepting his win.

No they didn't. He was impeached twice because he was charged with crimes. He was lucky to have the white power faction of the Senate to refuse to convict of the actual crimes.

Anyone with a majority in the House can impeach a president. He was accused him of various crimes by liberals from the time he won the election until the the present moment. Trying to remove a properly elected president over and over and over is not accepting his victory.

He reminds me of the townspeople forced on a tour of the local extermination camps by allied troops claiming they had no idea what was going on.

None so blind....

Rather than argue the point under debate, you always choose to try to impeach the character of the other poster. Name calling is the lowest form of debate and does nothing whatever to demonstrate that your opinions are correct. You're unable and unwilling to support anything you claim except with name calling.

No, Trump never said that. If you disagree, paste in a link to the quotation, not to another liberal misquoting him.

Another brilliant argument by a liberal. Making up something someone never said and then blaming him for it. Let's see the link.

@Brandon9000,
Wait! There were extermination camps in the US during the Trump administration?

I never knew that.

Hillary Clinton accepted his victory...and conceded immediately.

But then again, Hillary Clinton has the ethical wherewithal for that kind of thing...and loves America. Trump does not.

And neither do his continuing supporters.

@Brandon9000,
Come on, man, you're smart enough to do a search aren't you? I found this in about fifteen seconds:
Quote:
“It’s just a common fact. They have a majority in the House, and therefore you need their votes, and they want to get certain things. I will tell you this if you look at before and after, the things they had in there were crazy. They had things, levels of voting that if you ever agreed to it, you would never have another Republican elected in this country again. They had things in there about election days and what you do, and all sorts of clawbacks. They had things that were just crazy.”

That's what you got?

Trump is clearly talking about voter fraud, he is claiming that the Democrats are cheating by stuffing the ballot boxes. Obviously this is a ridiculous thing for Trump to say (there is zero evidence blah blah). But still, Trump is not saying what you are pretending to make him say.

It is not just the political left that plays this silly game, the far right plays this game too... picking out words from Biden and Obama to PROVE that they are socialists. It is nonsense.

Brandon gets the point on this silly tragent.

@maxdancona,
He's setting his base up to think there is voter fraud so they need to stop people they don't approve of from voting, because if they vote Republicans can't win. Simple.

My criticism is of the far left, I mostly agree with the left.
