I'm more than a little curious to know how Americans see Nelson Mandela. To me, he's a revered survivor & hero. But then, I'm wondering if the stories of the struggle for black independence in Sth Africa were as closely followed in the US as here in Oz & the UK? Once, on Abuzz, I attempted to start a celebratory discussion of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. A wonderfully brave, inspiring & humorous man, in the face of such adversity. Not one response. Couldn't figure it out, really...
